We are all going to fail at something in our lifetime. It isn’t a question of if I will – or if I am very careful – maybe I won’t. Failure is part of being human. As parents learn, children don’t come with instruction manuals, and yet we all fail in at least some aspect of raising our children. There is also no manual guiding us on how to build a perfect adult relationship. Again, we will all fail at something in our time on this earth.

In my 80+ years on this planet, I have tasted failure in my business and my personal life. Some have been catastrophic, such as growing a business to levels that I was not competent to understand. That cost me having to accept the failure of bankruptcy. I have also failed personally in learning what kind of partner is best for me given I am a serial entrepreneur with ADD/ADHD.

I have had other failures in my life. However, they do not define me because I am a lifelong learner. I learn from those failures as well as my successes. My successes have come about mostly through what I have learned from my failures.

Whatever you do in life, enter it with all you have to give. If you succeed – Hooray!!! And if you fail, either way, learn from the experience.

Failure is a part of life.
