When England was bombed daily during the second world war, the Prime Minister of England at that time, Sir Winston Churchill said, “When you are going through hell, keep going.”

We might all agree that today, we live in a period of great uncertainty. In my 84 trips around the sun, I am reminded that there have always been periods of uncertainty in life. My parents went through the financial collapse of our economy in the depression, and a war that took hundreds of thousands of lives and disrupted so many families shortly thereafter. In my generation, I have seen many recessions and wars and injustices. Every generation, past and present and future, will go through periods of great uncertainty and struggle.

In my 66 years as an entrepreneur with many different businesses, uncertainty was always like the unwanted struggle that I thought I didn’t need. However, a German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche said in 1888, “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.”

So, my friends, buckle up and enjoy the ride through uncertainty.
